Classroom Management Elements
This first paper focuses on my initial classroom management plan. In an ideal situation my desk arrangement would be grouped as seen in the pdf document. I think what this document does not reflect is my educational philosophy and climate of my classroom. After time had passed I reviewed this piece and while it held many scholarly sources it lacked my personality.

Creativity and Intrinsic Motivation
I thoroughly believe that to combat apathy in the classroom, students have to be motivated. The difference in intrinsic and extrinsic motivation is clear; there is a time and place for both, but for me intrinsic motivation wins in the long run in the classroom. When students want to learn and participate because they want to versus us as educators trying to reward them (bribe them) to participate, the students get more in the long run. I've done extensive research throughout the program about creativity and its positive effects, and became a fan of the works of Dr. Ken Robinson. In his book The Element, Dr. Robinson discusses that The Element is "...the place where the things you love to do and the things that you are good at come together." I fully believe that we as educators can bring The Element into our classroom for all our students while still adhering to the TEKS. Below is a paper that I wrote discussing creativity as an intrinsic motivator.
